A cat swinging on a branch
With grace and skill and nonchalance
He leaps and lands on his four paws
And then he licks them with his jaws
He does not care about the height
Or if he gives the birds a fright
He only wants to have some fun
And feel the breeze and see the sun
He swings again and then he stops
And looks around for any props
He sees a squirrel on a tree
And thinks that it would make a good company
He jumps and chases after it
But the squirrel is too fast and fit
He misses it by just a bit
And falls into a pile of leaves
He shakes himself and then he smiles
He does not mind his little trials
He swings and jumps and plays all day
He is a cat and that's his way
