Working with a pretender

Working with someone pretender to like you

Is like wearing a mask that doesn't fit

You smile and nod and act polite

But inside you feel like a hypocrite

You wonder what they really think of you

And what they say behind your back

You try to ignore the subtle clues

But you can sense the trust they lack

You wish you could be honest and sincere

And tell them how you really feel

But you know that would only cause more fear

And make the situation more unreal

So you keep playing the game of lies

And hope that one day it will end

But until then you have to compromise

And work with someone who's not your friend
